I am writing to formally accept the Ronald and Miriam White Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. and I extend my sincerest thanks to the entire UWIAA–FL Board for choosing me as a recipient for this award. Thank you for acknowledging my academic efforts, my passion for my chosen field, and my financial needs. This award significantly eases the financial burden of my studies and allows me to focus more fully on my academic and professional development. I am truly grateful for your support. It is a privilege to be associated with the legacy of the late Mr. Ronald White and Mrs. Miriam White, and I will strive to uphold the values they represent. My academic goal includes first completing my BSc in Psychology and furthering my education by pursuing a PhD in Counselling Psychology. I strive to keep a healthy balance between academic life and extracurricular activities. I currently serve as the Sign Language Arm Co-Ordinator for my Hall’s Sign language Club, volunteer with the UWI Sexual Harassment Unit as a Peer Advisor and serve on the Guild’s EAC External Affairs Committee as a Newsletter Writer. I am passionate about learning new skills and contributing wherever my skills are best utilized. I hope to use my profession to increase understanding of the importance of mental health and to advocate for improved access to mental health support and services. My long-term goal is to eventually have my own practice as a Counselling Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals with mental health challenges and helping them work towards self-actualization. This scholarship means relief from financial insecurity and brings me one step closer to fulfilling my academic goals, and I intend to make the most of this opportunity. Once again, thank you for your generosity and confidence in my potential. I look forward to making the UWIAA–Florida Chapter proud.

I want to express the most sincere and heartfelt gratitude for being selected for the Dr Enid B. Jones Scholarship. A few days ago I was in shambles, panicking about how I'm going to cover this semester’s cost especially since for the past few months I've been doing it alone. Despite it, all my passion and drive for higher education never change I keep on going. I started my second year with a lot of goals, the main one is to achieve a 3.6 or higher GPA which has been my goal from day one. Few weeks before I moved into my dorm room my laptop broke, I cried but I never gave up. I'm still finding alternatives to continue to achieve all the A's possible. Dr Jones, you are an inspiration and a role model and I aspire to have this much drive and care for higher education for myself and others. It's very motivating to know that someone read my story and think I was worthy enough to receive an award in your name. Dr Jones, thank you very much, I pray God's richest blessing, prosperity and peace over your life. Continue to impact more lives.

I am incredibly honoured to accept the Dr. Eric Chiang Achieve Scholarship. As I write this letter, I feel overwhelming gratitude for being granted the privilege to accept this award. With the gracious support of the UWIAAFL, I am empowered to continue excelling in my studies, growing professionally, and engaging within my Belizean and Caribbean communities. I have recently concluded my first semester as a second-year student at the University of the West Indies, Global Campus (UWIGC), and securing this scholarship has truly made the journey even more fulfilling. I will continuously strive to maintain a GPA of 3.5 and above throughout my studies. Additionally, I am actively seeking ways to participate within my UWI community. As the academic year progresses, it is my hope to use my expertise in marketing as a Public Relations Officer (PRO), serving both at the local and regional levels. I am also preparing an application for the Young Women in Leadership Belize training programme, to enhance my leadership skills for my potential endeavours as a PRO. I also look forward to writing my third-year practicum research project on digital marketing strategy and tailoring it for submission to the Caribbean Library Journal (CLJ). From there, I aspire to become a Senior Search Engine Optimization Specialist, building my expertise over the next decade for visionary leadership positions. Above all, my career in marketing is my medium to connect with others. My ultimate venture is to launch a Belizean-founded clothing brand that modernizes traditional wear by blending it with contemporary fashion to preserve, reclaim, and educate Caribbean youth about their culture. I am deeply appreciative of Dr. Eric Chiang and the UWIAAFL Board for investing in my academic journey. To me, this award further crystallizes that despite my financial constraints, I can rise above to reach my academic and professional goals whilst uplifting my local and regional communities. Once again, I extend my immeasurable thanks for this honourable privilege, and I will do everything in my power to maximise this investment.
